Report for November 2006

Lynsted-with-Teynham W.I. met for their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday the 1st of November.  This was preceded by a very enjoyable Ploughman’s Lunch.  Mrs. Bid Trim, the President, then welcomed our W.I. Adviser Mrs. Jean Ambers. After apologies for absence were accepted, Mrs. Biddie Willis was presented with a birthday spray of flowers. Dates to remember for November are 6th November is Autumn Day at the Alexander Centre in Faversham, 8th is the Sewing Group, the 15th is the Book Group, the 22nd is ‘Ladies who Lunch’, and on the 24th, there is a Coffee Morning at Beer Cart Lane in Canterbury.

The meeting continued with the Committee’s Report read by Mrs. Doreen Parrish and the Presidents Address thanking the committee and members for all their work over the last year.  The new committee was then announced and the new President, Mrs. Ann Diamond.

Members then enjoyed refreshment and a social time.  A vote of thanks was given to Mrs.Jean Ambers and to Mrs. Bid Trim for all her time and work over the past year.

The winner of the Competition for an object beginning with z was Mrs. Barbara Hodges and the winner of the Flower of the Month was a Dahlia entered by Mrs.Barbara Dale.

The next meeting will be at 2.15pm on Wednesday the 6th December in the Labour Hall.
