Faversham Nautical Festival, Faversham Creek, Faversham. A Kentish Sail Association event at the head of Faversham Creek with traditional boats visiting, stalls, displays from organisations such as the Cambria Trust, a beer tent, food and traditionsl music.

10am - 12noon: Plant Sale on Bank Holiday Monday. Venue: Norton Village Hall, Provender Lane, Norton. ME13 0SW.  Please telephone 521478 to book your table.

12 noon - 5pm: ART IN THE HALL: An exhibition of modern abstract art created by local people. Have you ever looked at modern art and thought ”I can do that“ - Well the people of Doddington and their friends have done just that!  Exhibition, judging and awards - presentation of awards 4.30. Refreshments available.
Venue: Doddington Village Hall. Free admittance to the exhibition.

Meadow Walk. Lynsted with Kingsdown Society will host a guided walk through a Traditional Flower Meadow in Sussex.  To book places (and arrange a lift if you need one) contact Neil Anderson (886198).  This is the third year for this treat!

8 June

Farm Nature Day. Lynsted with Kingsdown Society chairman, Neil Anderson, is opening up his farm for gentle guided walks, and talks by experts on birds, flowers and small mammals. There will be cakes and other light refreshments provided to complete the day.  All are welcome - no charge. Exact timings nearer the day.

DBL LogoButton BikeSaddle Up for the Kent Air Ambulance!  For those taking part, good luck! Two cycle rides are on offer that take in the main coverage of this important Kent service (that relies on donations to operate). For those with an appetite for more scenery, there is a 100 mile ride [161 km]; for those with a more modest appetite there is a 100 kilometre [62.12 miles] ride.  Both routes give you an opportunity to generate much needed sponsorship funds for a life-saving service.  Their Press release & small maps can be read here or visit their web-site to learn more and to register.

Venue: Teynham School, Station Road. BBQ, Beer Tent, Wine Bottle Tombola, Bouncy Castles, Grand Raffle, Coconut Shy, Competitions and much more.

7.30am start, with last Registration at 11am:
Cancer Research UK (CRUK) North Downs Walk. Rotary Club of the Weald of Kent will lead a walk starting from Harrietsham Village Hall, Church Road. ME17 1AP.  Walkers may retain up to 50% of sponsorship to their own charity with the remainder going to the CRUK.  Alternatively, walkers may register at the Hall on the day for a minimum donation of £10 per person.
Walks of 3, 6 or 9 miles can be joined as each group crosses parts of the Downs. Lunch: Free Ploughmans lunch, with strawberries and Jazz music on completion.

10.30am - 4pm: Gardens in and around Rodmersham.  Purchase a map at any garden or at the plant stall on Rodmersham Green. Open gardens will be highlighted with balloons and signs. Tea/Coffee on sale at several gardens. Lunches available to purchase.  Admission: £4 per person. There will also be a raffle on Rodmersham Green with a variety of garden themed prizes including a rose arch, water fountain and hanging baskets.

St Mary Norton - Bi-annual Flower Festival - in our beautiful church in the orchards. It is always a lovely and happy event. All flower arrangers and friends who might like to help us in any way - please contact Marie-Louise Lacamp on 521570 as far in advance as you can.
Nearer the date there will be a meeting of volunteers to discuss what you would enjoy doing most –whether it is flower arranging, making things for stalls or food for refreshments – or just helping on the day.

7.30pm each night: Don’t miss the DAFTAs: A variety show performed by local adults & youngsters follows the successful “Oscar style” format of previous years.  Last year’s double winners, Doddington Ukulele Movement, will perform along with many other acts (both serious and funny) - you vote for your favourite.  Seating is café style - bring drinks and nibbles to share with friends.  Tables for 4 or 6 can be booked when purchasing tickets. Venue: Doddington Village Hall. Last year’s tickets sold out despite putting on an extra night so don’t leave it too late to buy yours.

Saturday from 10am; Sunday from Noon: Sheppey “Pirates Weekend” at Barton Point Coastal Park.  See how pirates used to live with the Sheppey Pirates Living history Camp providing traditional dress and re-enactments.  Activities include demonstration of musket-ball making, cookery lessons, water fights, tug of war, junior sward training and a grande finale.  Pirates chasing Daleks out of town....!  Free entrance and car parking.
