Report for December 2009
Our new president welcomed us all to the meeting and asked us just to have thoughts and a minutes silence for Nancy Spiers who sadly passed away recently. A donation has been sent to the Marie Curie fund in memory of her. We have 6 members who have birthdays this month, they were presented with flower buttonhole sprays to mark the occasion.
With Christmas fast approaching there was much to discuss and arrange. On Friday 4th December some of us are attending a carol concert at Canterbury cathedral. One of our members, Anne Diamond is doing a reading, we shall enjoy hearing and supporting her. We have our Christmas party at the Dover Castle to look forward to and also we are involved and helping out at the Teynham Christmas bazaar. Never a dull moment!!
At our meeting today we had Eileen Booker come along with lots of her Christmas crafts. She is a lady with lots of clever ideas for unusual and pretty decorations for Christmas. She demonstrated how easy some of her ideas are. Its given us lots inspiration and encouragement to have a go!
Tea and mince pies were served and we ended singing a few Christmas carols.
We would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.
