Report for December 2006
The President, Mrs. Ann Diamond, welcomed members to the December meeting. After apologize for absence had been accepted Mesdames Winn. Price, Hazel Cooper and Bid Trim were presented with birthday sprays. Members will meet for their Christmas Lunch at the Dover Castle on the 18th December; on the 8th December, six members will attend the Christmas Celebrations at the Alexander Centre, Faversham. Future dates to remember are, the A.C.M. at Margate on the 28th March, the Dabble Day on the 10th March, a Literary Day on the 9th March, Learn to Play Canasta on the 12th February anyone interested should give their names to the Secretary to reserve a place.
Everyone then enjoyed refreshments of tea, coffee and mince pies. Mrs. Barbara Hodges then gave a reading reflecting on all the changes that have taken place in the last fifty years or so. Mesdames Ann Diamond, Peggy Ainsworth, Barbara Skilton and Marian Finch then performed their version of `All Things Bright and Beautiful` very funny and clever, I have a feeling they will be asked to perform it again. The meeting ended with the singing of popular carols. Lynsted-w-Teynham W.I. would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday the 3rd January at 2.15pm at the Labour Hall.
