Report for November 2007
Members of Lynsted-w-Teynham W.I. enjoyed a Ploughman’s Lunch, prepared and served by members of the committee, before their Annual Meeting in November.
Mrs, Ann Diamond opened the meeting by introducing the W.I. Adviser, Mrs, Jane Graham, and then presented Mrs.Biddie Willis with a Birthday spray of flowers. Members were reminded of the Christmas coffee morning at Beer Cart Lane on the 30th November. Mrs. Yvonne Tatton, the Treasurer, presented the Treasures report, Mrs. Rita Wicks-Pearson presented the Committees Report and Mrs. Ann Diamond presented the Presidents report. Mrs. Diamond thanked the committee for their support and hard work over the past year; and all the members who worked to make the W.I. a success.
The new committee was then voted for and everyone enjoyed tea and coffee while the votes where counted. The new President for 1908 will be Mrs. Bid Trim; the secretary will be Mrs. Rose Ingrams, and the treasurer Mrs. Marlene Disney. Mrs. Sue Maylam then gave a vote of thanks to Mrs. Jane Graham and to Mrs. Ann Diamond for all the time and work as President over the past year.
The winner of the flower of the month competition was Mrs. Marian Cook, and the winner of the monthly competition was Mrs. Barbara Dale.
The next meeting of the W.I. will be on the 5th December at 2.15pm at the Community Hall, this will be a Christmas Social, and anyone interested in the W.I. will be welcome.
