Report for February 2008

Lynsted with Teynham W.I celebrated its 88th birthday on Wednesday 6th February. Members and visitors enjoyed a birthday tea and a glass of sherry.It was also the 80th birthday of a long standing member Dorothy Fotheringham. A basket of flowers was presented to our oldest member Evelyn Rickwood who celebrates her 90th birthday this month.

We had a very interesting talk by Helen Allison on old toys from Victorian times to present day.Helen also brought some toys and dolls to show us from her collection, including a victorian doll that had belonged to her grand mother.Many of these toys brought happy memories to us of past toys that we long had forgotten.

The next W.I meeting will be held on Wednesday 5th March at the community hall anyone wishing to join us would be most welcome.
