Report for February 2007

The President Mrs. Ann Diamond welcomed members, friends and guests to the 87th Birthday of Lynsted-w-Teynham W.I. Members celebrating their birthdays in February were Marian Cook, Dorothy Fotheringham, Evelyn Rickwood and Phil Coppins and they received a small spray of flowers.  There was then a short business meeting, the Group Meeting is at Painters Forstall on the 13th March, ten members and the President will be able to attend. Would members wishing to attend the various events and groups please put their names on the appropriate list? 

The President Mrs. Ann Diamond then introduced Avril Woolf who would entertain the members with songs and sketches by Joyce Grenfell. Avril Woolf gave a short talk on the life of Joyce Grenfell and sang some of the favourite songs and of course, the famous monologues.

After thanking Avril, everyone sat down to enjoy the Birthday Tea provided by the members. Avril Woolf and Phil Coppins cut the lovely birthday cake made and decorated by Gloria fox, while everyone sang “Happy Birthday”.  The Afternoon ended with a raffle. 

The next meeting is on the 7th March at 2.15pm at the Labour Hall.
